Darrell T. Stanton

Darrell T. Stanton, age 55, Iron River, MI, went home to the Lord on Monday, October 6, 2008. Born: May 23, 1953 in Grand Rapids, MI The son of Russell and the late Maxine (Kelly) Stanton attended the Allendale, MI public schools. Darrell married the former Patti Van Solkema on March 16, 1973 in Allendale. He worked for Light Metals Corporation until 1998, and the couple moved to Iron River in 1999 where he worked as a self-employed building contractor. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Iron River and the National Rifle Association (NRA). He loved nature and the woods and enjoyed hunting, trapping, and target shooting. He was an avid concealed weapons advocate. He was also preceded in death by his brother, David Stanton. He is survived by his wife, Patti Son, Joseph Stanton of Iron River Daughter, Jennifer (Brian) Koppenaal of Franklin, TN Father, Russell Stanton of Coopersville, MI Brothers; Larry (Sue) Stanton of Allendale, MI Dan (Charon) Stanton of Jenison, MI Tim Stanton of Coopersville, MI Four grandchildren; Levi, Luke, Brayden, and Saedra Visitation: Thursday, October 9, 2008 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River. Funeral Service: Friday, October 10, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, Iron River, with Rev. John Fish to officiate. Interment: Bates Township Cemetery, Iron River.
