David S. Adamson

David S. Adamson, age 61, of Iron River, MI, went home to his Lord and Savior on Monday, September 1, 2014 at Northstar Health System, Iron River. He was born August 28, 1953 in Stambaugh, MI, the son of the late Carl and Ryene (Okerman) Adamson. He attended the Iron River schools, graduating from West Iron County High School in 1971. He was employed as a CNC programmer/operator by LDE for 22 years, retiring in 2010. David married the former Barbara J. Carne on June 26, 1976 at the Blessed Sacrament Church of Stambaugh. The couple made their home in Stambaugh and were lifelong residents of the area. They celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary this past June. David was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church of Caspian, the Men's Club of St. Cecilia, St. Vincent De Paul St. Cecilia Conference where he served as treasurer. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Prison Ministry, the Elks Lodge, and the Iron County Ultreya. He enjoyed playing on the computer, crocheting, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers, James, Kenneth and Leland Adamson and sisters, Dorothy Johnson, Inez Howden, Susan Valine and Marilyn Adamson, and father and mother-in-law, Arthur and Jean Carne. He is survived by his wife, Barbara and their companion “Molly”; sons, Christopher (Amanda) Adamson of Taylor, ND, and James (Kari) Adamson of Fond Du Lac, WI; brothers, Bruce (Pat) Valine of Hibbing, MN, Ralph (Gail) Valine of Florence, WI, and Donald (CeCe) Adamson of Paris, ME; sisters, Joan (Garland) Goesh of Port Townsend, WA, and Pat (Bruce) Valine of Hibbing, MN; seven grandchildren, Gabriel Adamson, Lorelai Adamson, Noah Adamson, Kirsten Foster, Braeden Adamson, Madelyn Adamson, and Leila Adamson; sisters-in-law, Rose Ann Carne of Iron River, MI and Linda (Gary) Deiter of Brillion, WI; nieces, nephews and extended family. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 3, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. Memorial service will be held Thursday, September 4, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Caspian with Deacon Robert Kostka to officiate. Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery.
