David J. Arcand

David J. Arcand, age 67, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2022. He was born on April 2, 1955, in Stambaugh, MI, the son of Mabel (Stebic) Vidas and the late Claude Arcand. He graduated from West Iron County High School with the class of 1973. David married Mary Angeli on September 2, 1989, at Chicagoan Lake. The couple celebrated their 32nd wedding anniversary in 2021. He was employed by West Iron County Schools for many years as a mentor and instructor in the Building Trade classes, bus driver, and maintenance mechanic. David was a member of the WIC Educational Support Personnel Staff union. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle and going for pontoon rides. He loved his dog, Cedar. David is survived by his wife, Mary; mother, Mabel Vidas of Iron River, MI; son Craig (Dana Stright) Arcand of Littleton, CO; daughter, Christi (Sean) Raphael of Klamath Falls, OR; grandchildren, Jericho, Jeremiah, and Tyler Raphael; sister, Claudia (Geron) Verville; brothers-in-law, Everett (Rhonda) Angeli and David (Penny) Angeli; nieces and nephews, Teri Verville, Lisa (Patrick Moore) Verville, Stephen Verville, Jeanette Schornack, Kelly Brower, Kristie Angeli, Jayni Alphenaar, Taylor Angeli, Alexandra Angeli, and Zachary Angeli; extended family, and friends. He was also preceded in death by his brother, John Arcand. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 29, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the VFW Ottawa Post #3134 in Iron River.
