David R. Bridgette, age 45, of Iron River, MI, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 24, 2021. He was born on August 18, 1975 in Racine, WI, the son of the late Ronald and Barbara (Kroes) Bridgette. He was a graduate from Antigo High School. David was enlisted in the US Army from 2001 to 2014. He served three tours of duty in Iraq and was an Army Recruiter in Rhinelander, WI. During his service, David received many decorations and medals for his combat and recruiting assignments, including the Bronze Star. David married the former Kaye “Kitty” Hoyt on September 2, 1998 in Las Vegas, NV. They celebrated their 22nd wedding anniversary last year. After his Army service, David was employed as a sales agent for ADT Security in Georgia. David was known by all who loved him for his vivid imagination. He could get a laugh out of anyone with his quick wit and extraordinary storytelling. David enjoyed reading and was passionate about writing and was a published science fiction author. He had a variety of hobbies as an avid adventurer, a gardener, a hunter, and a gamer. He also enjoyed history and dearly loved his dogs. David is survived by his wife, Kitty Bridgette of Iron River, MI; step daughter, Shelly Grenwalt of Antigo, WI; sisters, Michelle (Dennis) Bryski of Olympia, WA and Carrie (David) Kohn of Oviedo, FL; step grandchildren, Daniel Stripling of Eagle River, WI, Harli Brown and Joseph Steagall, both of Antigo, WI; five step great grandchildren; a niece, four nephews, extended family and friends. Private services will be held.
