David P. King, age 61, of Caspian, MI, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, August 14, 2017. He was born May 14, 1956, in Ironwood, MI, the son of the late Kenton and Rosalie (Grandelis) King. He attended the West Iron County Schools, graduating with the Class of 1974. David married Ancella Thurston on September 8, 2007 at the Caspian Community Center in Caspian, Michigan. The couple would have celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary this fall. He was employed as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant in various nursing homes. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church and enjoyed fishing, playing golf, deer hunting. He especially loved being out in the sunshine and tending his garden. When the boys came to town, he delighted in cooking homemade venison sausage and Italian dishes for large family dinners. David is survived by his wife, Ancella; sons, Nicholas King of Weston, WI, Stephen (Tiffany) King of Rib Mountain, WI, and Kori (Nicole) King of Weston, WI; step-daughter, Nicole Thurston of Caspian, MI; grandchildren, Dante, Kellen, Wesley, Delilah and Oliver; brother, Tom (Debra) King of Iron River, MI; sisters, Patricia (Curtis) Soderbloom of Iron River, MI and Rebecca King of Okemos, MI, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Christopher King and daughter, Nicole King. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church of Iron River. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Michael Laakko to officiate.
