David P. Ross, age 58, of Arbor Vitae, WI, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at his home. He was born on September 4, 1959 in Crystal Falls, MI, the son of the late Wayne E. Ross and Corinne A. Stacy. He attended the West Iron County and Menominee Schools, graduating from Menominee High School, with the Class of 1979. David was a budding entrepreneur - and while he worked at Pasquali’s, Family Foods, and Selin’s, he was always on the lookout to capitalize on his own - he owned Dave’s Bait and Tackle, and other ventures. He was a lector at St. Cecelia’s Catholic Church for a number of years. David’s first priority was spending quality time with his family - his motto “Family First!” He also enjoyed fishing and hunting - and sharing ‘the one that got away stories with everyone.’ Anyone who really knew Dave, would agree that he loved stringing words together to capture people’s attention, as much as he loved baiting hooks to get the fishes’ attention. He loved writing and sending cards. He loved road trips and setting up flea markets - where he bonded with his family who helped set them up. David was a “people person” and delighted in talking with anyone he would meet, regarding any topic that came up - but look out if you commented on politics. He had a loud boisterous laugh, and infectious smile. David is survived by his wife, Thea (Mianecki) Ross; children, Maygen Mianecki of Norway, MI, Michael Mianecki of Milwaukee, WI, Melody Ross of Iron River, MI and Misty Mianecki of Amasa, MI; grandchildren, Paige, Max, Chase, Wyatt, Tyee, Connor, Faith, Elise, Rozalynn, Alayah and Braydon; siblings, Theodore (Patricia) Youngberg of Iron River, MI, Veronica (Richard) Junak of Iron River, MI and Quinn (Tammy) Youngberg of Caspian, MI; aunts, Naomi, Rita and Bernadette; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Man’s best friend, Trixie, will miss him desperately. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the St. Agnes Catholic Church of Iron River, with Rev. Gregory Veneklase to offer the Mass of Christian Burial.
