Diane M. Bowman

Diane M. Bowman, age 79, lifelong resident of Iron River, MI, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at a Green Bay healthcare facility surrounded by her family. She was born to the late Albin P. and Martha A. (Viitala) Zyskowski on February 2, 1935 in Iron River MI. She attended the Iron River Schools, graduating with the Class of 1953. On March 17, 1956, she married Frank Bowman and the couple made their home in Iron River. Frank and Diane managed the Dinner Bell Restaurant. She was also employed by several other local restaurants in the area. Diane also worked for Coleman Products until the plant closed. She was an active member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Altar Society, a Eucharistic Minister for many years, a CCD instructor and member of the Third Order of Mt. Carmel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank on March 5, 2003; son, John Patrick in 1964; daughter, Kelly Ann Schmidt on July 3, 2012; grandson, Chad Hooper; brother, Zygmund Zyskowski; and sister, Marilyn Meyer. She is survived by her son, Frank (Brenda) Bowman of Gaastra, MI; daughters, Dawn Marie (Anthony) Toonen of Green Bay, WI, Laura (Jonathon) Jenkins of Green Bay, WI, and Mary Lynn (Kurt) Nordbeck, Green Bay, WI; grandchildren, Keith and Craig Hooper, Dr. Joseph (Liz) Toonen, Erin (Donald) Mueller, Michael, David, and Emily Jenkins(Zach Ferguson-fiancee), Bradley, Jereck, and Alex Bowman, Jonathan, Andrew, and Markita Nordbeck; four great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Visitation will be held Friday, February 28, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 11 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church of Iron River, with Rev Gregory Venelkase, Pastor, to offer the Mass of Christian Burial.
