Dolores J. Dobson

Dolores J. Dobson, age 82, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at Aspirus Iron River Hospital.  She was born on October 13, 1936 in Escanaba, MI, the daughter of the late James and Margaret (Morin) Doran.  She attended the Escanaba Schools, graduating with the Class of 1955. Dolores married Glenn E. Dobson Sr. on February 9, 1956 in Iron River.  The couple celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary in 2002.  Glenn preceded her in death on October 25, 2002.  Dolores assisted her husband in his business endeavors along with raising their four children.  She loved playing cribbage and spending time with loved ones.  Dolores had been a Den mother for the Cub Scouts and was a wonderful dog sitter.  Friends and family were always welcome in her home.  She was kind, generous, and was always there with a helping hand and pot of coffee.   Dolores is survived by her sons, Glenn (Donna) Dobson, Jr of Iron River, David Dobson of Arlington Heights, IL, and Michael Dobson of Iron River, MI; daughter, Diane (Louis) Mitchell of Pewaukee, WI; grandchildren, Krista (David) Schindler, Laura (Wesley) Brinkley, Jeremy, Jenna, and Jake Dobson, and Megan (Chris) Goetz; step granddaughter, Heather Wood; great grandchildren, Christian Dobson, Jaiden Dobson, Jaebrion Norton, Thayne Schindler, Brenden and Halia Hill, Everly and Jackson Goetz, Zoe Minckler; brothers, Jim (Sue) Doran of Escanaba, MI and Bob (Jan) Doran of Florida; sisters, Judy Ottensman of Escanaba, MI and Glora Mateja of Arkansas; sisters-in-law, Sandra Doran of Escanaba, MI and Karen Dobson of Caspian, MI; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Besides her parents, Dolores was preceded in death by brother, Michael Doran and her sister, Rita Lindblad. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2018 from 9:30 to 11:00 am at Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron River.  Funeral services will follow at 11 am with Pastor Dawn Robbins to officiate.  Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery.
