Donald G. Christensen

Donald G. Christensen age 90, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2020 at the Iron County Medical Care Facility. He was born on June 17, 1929 in Stambaugh, MI, the son of the late Andrew and Charlotte (Borns) Christensen. Donald married the former Lorraine Geegan on May 14, 1949 in Iron River, and the couple were lifelong residents of the area. They celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary in 1986, before Lorraine preceded him in death on September 2, 1986.   He worked as a butcher for over 40 years, and also worked as a logger for many years.  He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.  Donald is survived by his sons, Glenn and James Christensen, both of Iron River; daughter, Linda (Gary) Waligursky of Crystal Falls; grandchildren, Lynn (Matt) Eliason, Michael and Craig (Heather) Waligursky, Andrea (Jeff) King, Addie (Matt) Waterstratd, Doc (Jessica) Christensen, Melissa Christensen, Kelsie (Nick) Karnack, and Emilie Christensen; 11 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Dolores Christensen; nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Angie Waligursky; seven brothers, and five sisters. Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery.
