Donald W. Karstens

Donald W. Karstens, age 75 of Caspian, MI, died Thursday, October 15, 2009 at the Northstar Health System, Iron River, MI. Born: February 23, 1934 in Hinsdale, IL The son of the late William and Helen (Geffert) Karstens graduated from Riverside Brookfield High School in Illinois. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. After his honorable discharge, he was employed by the Village of Addison in public works for over 26 years, retiring in 1996. Donald married the former Janet Morrow on August 6, 1986 in Las Vegas, NV. After his retirement, the couple moved to Caspian, MI to make their home. He was a member of the American Legion and loved to fish. He was preceded in death by his step-son, Edward Mazzuca. He is survived by his wife, Janet One step-son, Michael Mazzuca of West Chicago, IL Two grandchildren, Edward and Taylor Mazzuca Private family services will be held.
