Dora Rose Bobula, age 90, of Gaastra, MI, passed away Sunday, August 21, 2016 at the Iron River Care Center. Dora was born October 25, 1925 in Caspian, MI the daughter of the late Lewis and Louise (Agistini) Formolo. She attended the Caspian and Stambaugh Schools, graduated from Stambaugh High School and was a lifelong resident of the area. She married Arthur Bobula on December 28, 1943 in Gaastra and the couple celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary in 2005. Arthur preceded her in death on January 9, 2006. Dora was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church of Caspian, St. Ann’s Society, the Rosary Sodality, and sang in the choir. She enjoyed the outdoors, crafts, playing cards (was a member of many card clubs), volunteering, singing, and playing piano at Medicare. Dora enjoyed being a resident and entertaining other residents at the Iron River Care Center. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Dora is survived by her sons, Randy (Ruby) Bobula of Iron River, and Mark (Marcia) Bobula of Ontonagon, MI; eight grandchildren, Ryan Bobula, Shannon Turner, Traci Lappen, Kathryn Porto, Todd Bobula, James Bobula, Steven Bobula, and Jeff Bobula . She was also preceded in death by her son, Gerald Bobula, daughter-in-law, Carol Bobula, brother, Joseph Formolo, infant brothers, Peter and Warren, sister Ann Bomaster, infant grandson, Timothy Bobula and great grandson, James Turner. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2016 from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron River. The ladies of St. Ann’s Society and the Rosary Sodality will form an Honor Guard at the service. Funeral Services will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Caspian with Rev. Gregory Veneklase to offer the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in Stambaugh Cemetery, Iron River.
