Doris M. Prickett

Doris Marie Prickett, 97, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2022. Doris was born on February 10, 1925, in Hepler, Kansas, daughter of the late Marion and Gertrude (Fager) Westhoff. Doris attended the Hepler, Kansas schools and graduated from Hepler high school is 1942. She later married Gene Prickett on January 6, 1945, in Memphis, Tennessee and the couple made their home in Chanute, Kansas until moving to Kansas City in 1970. The couple celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary in 2002. Doris was involved in childcare for many years. She was known to be an excellent cook and enjoyed many years over the road traveling to Scottsdale, Arizona. Doris is preceded in death by her husband; her three brothers William, Jim and Bob; sisters Olive Howell, Mary Goff, Julia Sapp, Fern McDaniel and Ellen Harris and granddaughter Michele Erickson. She is survived by her three daughters, Toni (Mike) Jacobs of Iron River, MI, Jacquelyn Henry of Wichita, Kansas, and Debra (Tim) Richards of Overland Park, Kansas; sister Patty Lucas of Omaha, Nebraska; grandchildren Jennifer (Derek) Cardinal, Paul (Megan) Jacobs; Angelia (Darren) Rohrback and Megan and Luke Richards; great-grandchildren Isaac O’Brien, Owen, Aiden and Evan Cardinal, Evan and Luke Rohrback and Landon and Hadley Jacobs. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, from 9:30-11:00 A.M. at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Parish with a funeral mass starting at 11:00 A.M. A graveside service will take place immediately following the funeral mass at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery at Lenexa, Kansas.
