Doris J. Robinson

Doris J. Robinson of Iron River, Michigan passed away peacefully on Friday, December 23, 2016 at the age of 89. Daughter of the late Eli and Bessie (Pearce) Johns, she graduated from Stambaugh High School and lived in Illinois, Missouri and California before returning to Iron River to work at Coleman Products. An avid follower of current events, Doris will be remembered for her independent spirit and tenacity. She loved tending to her flowers and enjoyed sewing and baking for her family. One of nine children, she was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters. A beloved mother and grandmother, Doris is survived by her four children , Paula (Jack) Kopp of Plainfield, IL, Steve Robinson of St. Louis, MO, Thom (Marian) Robinson of Denver, CO and Elizabeth (John) Ziegler of Albuquerque, NM; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a sister, Lois Temple of Tennessee. The Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River is handling funeral arrangements. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 28, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at her home at 35 N. 5th Avenue in Iron River.
