Doris G. Tackmier

Doris G. Tackmier Age 104 Iron River, MI Passed away Sunday September 9, 2012 at the Iron County Medical care Facility. She was born January 14, 1908 in Iron River, daughter of the late Gust and Minnie (LaRoux) Greene. Doris married Arthur Tackmier on March 24, 1924, and the couple were lifelong residents of the area. Arthur preceded her in death. She was a member of St. Peter 's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Iron River. She enjoyed attending church, gardening, traveling, and visiting with family. She is survived by her daughters, Sandy (Marshall) Joncas of Escanaba, MI Shirley Gebolys of Lake Havasu City, AZ Daughter in law: Marge Tackmier Iron River, MI Son in Law: Gary Peets Muskegon, MI Many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren Nieces, nephews and extended family She was also preceded in death by her son, Merrel ""Burl"" Tackmier; daughter, Darlene Peets; son-in-law, Albert Gebolys; brothers, Willard and Herbert Greene; and sisters, Viola Montambo, Alma Stromberg, and Alvena Aley and grandsons, Tod Tackmier, Darren Jurecic, and granddaughters, Jane Lamp, and Hannah Mounts. Visitation will be held Sunday Sept. 16, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, September 16 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Peter 's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Iron River, with Rev. Edward Starkey to officiate.
