Dorothy M. Bergquist Age 85 Iron River,MIDied Friday April 1, 2011 at the Northstar Health System, Iron River Born: October 26, 1925 in Stambaugh, MI The daughter of the late Arthur and Jennie (Greenlund) Thompson attended the Stambaugh Schools, graduating with the Class of 1943. She worked at Baker's Store in Stambaugh before moving to Chicago, IL where she was employed as a stenographer at Swank Jewelers. Dorothy married Melvin Bergquist on May 29, 1948 in Stambaugh and the couple made their home in Chicago. Melvin preceded her in death. Dorothy returned to the Iron River area in 1986 and was a member of the Grace Covenant Church. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her daughters; Linda (Mark) Anderson of Aurora, CO Betty (Herbert) Honold of Iron River Brother, Carl Thompson of Monona, WI Sister, Jennette (Norman) Ergish of Kenosha, WI Five grandchildren Five great grandchildren Nieces, nephews and extended family She was also preceded in death by her son, Kenneth and sister Hazel Thorpe. Visitation: Friday, April 8, 2011 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the Grace Covenant Church, Iron River Funeral Service: Friday, April 8, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Grace Covenant Church, Iron River, with Rev. James Swanson II to officiate. Interment: Stambaugh Cemetery, Iron River Funeral arrangements by the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River.
