Dorothy Mae Henriksen Javoroski, age 79, passed away October 21, 2020 at the Iron River Care Center due to COVID complications. She was born August 17, 1941 and daughter of the late Louis and Mildred Henriksen of Beechwood. Dorothy attended the Iron River High School (class of 1959) and married Kenneth Javoroski of Bates on November 28th, 1959. She was a lifelong member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Iron River and was very involved in the community. She loved working with the flower arrangements and most of all, all the people that she was able to meet throughout the years. She looked forward to “fair time” every year and won many blue ribbons for her delicious pies and other baked goods. She was also a 4-H leader of the Beechwood Busy Bees and served on the county election board for many years. Dorothy took over the Beechwood Mercantile Store after her mother Mildred retired. She assumed the duties of the Beechwood Postmaster until the store close in 1979. She also volunteered many hours in the community working in the Iron County Historical & Museum Society. Several of her paintings are displayed depicting early life in Iron County. Additionally, she was a long time member of the Young Homemakers Club in Iron River. She was also very involved with the Beechwood Historical Society working to preserve the rich history of Beechwood, where she spent many hours with her fellow society members cataloging and preserving documents. She enjoyed her art of painting, knitting, playing cribbage, and loved BINGO! Dorothy is survived by daughters Lynn (Ed) Cook, and Debra Javoroski; son Louis (Heather) Javoroski, sisters Carolyn Dunlap and Ruth Lopez of Beechwood; Grandchildren Nicole Welch, Gary (Amanda) Welch, Lillyan and Makayla Javoroski; great-grandchild Shyann Brown.
