Dorothy Novak

Ms. Dorothy Novak Age: 89 Caspian, MI Passed away on December 10, 2011. Born: September 23, 1922, Caspian, MI The daughter of the late George & Mary (Kravontka) Novak was a life long resident of the area. She attended the Caspian and Stambaugh schools, and spent one year of high school at Ursulin Academy in St. Ignace. She graduated with the Stambaugh Class of 1940. After high school Dorothy worked in Chicago and Detroit. She was employed as a dental assistant for Dr. Leo Harris and Dr. Allan Wolfrom, retiring in 1963. She was a member of the St. Cecilia Catholic Church, the St. Anne's Society, and the 3rd Order of Mt. Carmel. Dorothy worked as sacristan at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church for 30 years. Preceded in death by brothers, George & John Novak; sisters, Ann Hanmer, Helen Hendricks, Katherine Frizzo, Sophia Trewartha, and Marian Archocosky. Survived by her nephew, whom she raised, Wayne Hanmer, Marquette, MI Sisters, Victoria Glessner, Glenview, IL Lillian Novak, Caspian, MI Sister-in-laws, Lois Novak, Iron River, MI Blanche Novak, Stambaugh Twp, MI Numerous Nieces & Nephews Funeral Service: Thursday, December 15, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Caspian, MI with the Rev. Gregory Veneklase to offer the Mass of Christian Burial. The ladies of St. Anne's Society will form an honor guard at the service. Interment: Stambaugh Cemetery, Iron River, MI.
