Duane G. Passamani

Duane G. Passamani, age 90, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at the Iron River Care Center. He was born on October 20, 1932, in Stambaugh, MI, the son of the late Louis and Hilma (Norkoli) Passamani. Duane attended area schools and graduated. He then attended technical school for welding. He was employed as a welder in the area mines. When the mines closed, he took numerous odd jobs, including working at the Iron County Courthouse and for Petrucelli and Petrucelli and for Hebert Construction. Duane was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed helping people with their welding projects. Duane is survived by his son, Graig (Teresa) Passamani of Whitemore Lake, MI; granddaughters, Taylor and Alexis Passamani; brother, Andrew Passamani of Iron River, MI; sister, Ann (William) Carne of Republic, MI; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Matthew Passamani; brothers, Phillip “Guzzy” Passamoni, Ron Passamani, and Dan Passamani Sr.; and sister, Janet Garber. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 7, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Stambaugh Cemetery. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Iron River Care Center for their support and heartfelt care of Duane for the 11 months he was there.
