Eddie E. Impola

Eddie E. Impola, age 86, of Iron River, MI, formerly of Kenosha, WI, passed away with his wife by his side on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Northstar Health System, Iron River. He was born April 29, 1928 in Ironwood, MI, the son of the late Henry and Ida (Stool) Impola. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. Eddie married the former Patricia Monnot on August 2, 1958, and the couple celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary in 2013. He was employed as a Supervisor at Johnson Outboard for over 33 years, and was a member of VFW Post #1865 of Kenosha, WI, and the First Lutheran Church of Iron River. He enjoyed wood working, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren. Eddie is survived by his wife, Patricia; son, Eddie E. Impola Jr. of McHenry, IL; daughters, Joan Scheuerman of Fort Collins, CO, Bonnie Impola of Kenosha, WI, Vicki (Brian) Zielsdorf of Kenosha, WI, and Heidi (Tom) Cheney of Gilbert, AZ; brother, Eino Impola of Florida; sisters, Florence Hannu of South Carolina, and Vienna Reini of Rindge, NH; sister-in-law, Alma Impola of Menahga, MN; six grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Rebecca Rose, brothers, Waino and Albert Impola, and sister, Helen Murphy. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 28, 2015 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church of Iron River, with Rev. Mike Laakko to officiate. Interment will be in Rosehill Cemetery in the spring.
