Edith E. Shymanski

Edith Shamion Shymanski, age 101, of Iron River, MI, passed away Tuesday, December 09, 2014 at the Iron River Care Center, Iron River. She was born December 2, 1913 in Argonne, WI, the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth (Wine) Schultz. She attended the Argonne schools. She married John M. Shamion on July 2, 1930.and the couple celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1980. John preceded her in death in 1983. On April 9, 1985, Edith married Tony Shymanski, and he preceded her in death in 2003. Edith was a member of the Purple Heart Auxiliary, the Polish Veterans Club, and the Moose Lodge of Tarpon Springs, Florida. She loved to cook, dance, work in the garden, and travel. She enjoyed spending the winters in Florida. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Edith is survived by three sons, Norman (Alice) Shamion of Haines City, FL, Robert (Kathy) Shamion of Sundance, WY, and Jack (Rose) Shamion of Iron River, MI., and Marco Island, FL; daughter, Sally (Victor) Couillard of Oak Creek, WI; grandchildren; nieces, and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her son Edward, daughter- in-law Yvonne , three brothers, Wilfred, Thorton and Irving Schultz and a granddaughter, Marianne. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 1, 2015 at the Grace Covenant Church of Iron River. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. with funeral servces to follow at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery in the spring.
