Edna J. Lipiec

Edna Jeanette Lipiec, age 94 of Iron River, MI, died Thursday, March 11, 2010 at the Iron River Care Center. Born: July 11, 1915, Iron River, MI The daughter of the late Ben and Anna (Kucinski) Karwoski was a lifelong resident of the area. She attended the Iron River schools, graduating with the Class of 1933. Edna married Isadore Lipiec on May 28, 1945 in the former Assumption Catholic Church in Iron River. For many years, she was a clerk at local dress shops. She was a former member of the Assumption Church, a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church of Iron River, the Altar Society, the Rosary Sodality, Daughters of Isabella, and the Senior Citizens Card Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Isadore in 1961; an infant son, James Robert; a daughter, Jane Lipiec on July 3, 1953; brothers, Emil, Narchie, Richard and Ben Karwoski and sisters, Genevieve LaChappell and Ann Szalkowski. She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 19. 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Iron River, with Rev Norman Clisch to offer the Mass of Christian Burial. The ladies of the Rosary Sodality will form an honor guard at the service. Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery, Iron River. Funeral arrangements by the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River.
