Edna Mae Sabol, age 75, of Caspian, MI, passed away on Friday, October 23, 2020 at the Iron River Care Center. She was born on September 14, 1945 in Stambaugh, MI, the daughter of the late Elmer and Dorothy (Owens) Falk. She attended the Iron River Schools with the Class of 1964. She then attended cosmetology school in Green Bay and graduated in 1965. Edna Mae returned to Iron River and married Joseph “Joe” Sabol on September 30, 1965 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Caspian. The couple made their home in Caspian and celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 2015. Joe preceded her in death on April 7, 2016. She was employed at Aramark as an iron presser from 1967 until 1973 and then worked at Coleman Products as an assembler from 1973 until the plant closure. Edna Mae was also a housekeeper at Iron County General Hospital and a daycare worker in Stambaugh before becoming a care taker for Mrs. Lorraine Saigh for 19 years. She was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir, and was a member of St. Anne’s Society. She enjoyed shopping, attending Detroit Tiger games with Joe, and also watching the Detroit Lions games with him. Edna Mae is survived by her brother, William “Bill” Falk of Norway, MI; brothers-in-law, Gary (Marilyn) Sabol of Caspian and Robert (Patricia) Sabol of Sheboygan, WI; nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; extended family and friends; special family, Jennifer and Derek Cardinal and sons and Paul and Megan Jacobs and children; and special friend and guardian, Lucille Wernholm. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at 10:15am at Stambaugh Cemetery with Pastor Kraig Tass to officiate.
