Edna C. Treado, age 81, of Gaastra, MI, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2016 at her home. She was born September 12, 1934 in Crystal Falls, MI, the daughter of the late Carl and Jeanette (Gallup) Eckerberg. She attended the Stambaugh Schools, graduating from Stambaugh High School with the Class of 1952. Edna married Vernon W. Treado on September 13, 1952 at the Presbyterian Church of Gaastra, and the couple celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 2002. Vernon preceded her in death in 2006. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Iron County, the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community, and former member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed traveling the world with her husband, loved to read, play cards, work crossword puzzles, and play the board game “Marbles”. Edna is survived by her son, Vernon C. (Karen) Treado of Oak Harbor, OH; daughters, Pastor Dawn Treado and Delsey Treado, both of Gaastra; brother, Ralph C. (Jean) Eckerberg of Baraga, MI; sister, Jean C. (Mary Kreger) Eckerberg of Atlantic Mine, MI; grandchildren, Jason V. Treado, Edward (Matthew) Yackel, Michael (Joni) Yackel, Carla (Oliver) Grossman, and Katie Dvorscak; great grandchildren, Carver Charlotte, Daniel, and Bradley; nieces, nephews, and extended family. Visitation will be held Monday, April 25, 2016 from 1:00 TO 3:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Iron River. Funeral services will follow at 3:15 p.m. with Pastor Dawn Treado to officiate. In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the First Presbyterian Church of Iron County.
