Edward P. Dzarnowski, 81, of Caspian, MI, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2025. He was born on April 8, 1943, in Iron River, MI, the son of the late Peter and Esther (Rosetti) Dzarnowski. He attended the Iron River Schools, Ferris State University, and graduated in 1972 from Michigan Technological University, after serving in the United States Army. Edward married the former Joan Sandstrom on February 14, 1976, in Trenary, MI. Joan preceded him in death in December 1997. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Debbie McGowan in October 2009. He was employed as a Civil Engineer by the Michigan Department of Transportation for 27 years, retiring in June 1997. He was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church of Caspian, VFW Ottawa Post #3134, and American Legion Reino Post #21. As an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Edward is survived by his sister, Barbara (Frank) Butorac of Iron River; son-in-law, Dave McGowan; three grandchildren; six great grandchildren; extended family and friends. A visitation will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. A Liturgy of the Word service will follow at 12:30 p.m. with Fr. Daniel Fosu to officiate. Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery. The West Side Veterans will accord Military Rites at the graveside.
