Edward Remer

Edward Remer, age 79, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Monday, August 5, 2019. Edward was born on October 7, 1939 in Burlington, WI, the son of the late Werner and Hazel (Bodden) Remer. He attended the Burlington schools, graduating with the Class of 1957.  He married the former Phyllis Edwards on February 19, 1960 in Kenton, MS and they moved to Iron River in 1969.  The couple celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary just prior to Phyllis’s passing on February 28, 2000.  Edward was employed as a surveyor with the L.W. Surveying Company of Duluth, MN.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, four wheeling, gardening, and just being outdoors.  Edward is survived by his sons, Edward (Theresa) Remer of California, Thomas (Misty) Remer of Gaastra, MI, and Anthony (Rhonda) Remer of Iron River, MI; daughters, Theresa (Rick Cook) Arnold of Mercer, WI, Sharon (Tom) Peterson and Tammy (Randy) Mylchreest, both of Iron River, MI; brothers, John Remer of Iron Mountain, MI, and Ronald Remer of Iron River, MI; sisters, Margery Schultz of East Troy, WI, Mary Lois and Barbara Remer, both of Burlington, WI; 14 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; significant other, Linda Maki of Iron River, MI; nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Marlene and brother, Roger.  Private family services will be held.
