Edward “Mousie” L. Rouse, age 76, of Marquette, MI, passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette, MI. He was the youngest of three children, born on August 24, 1944 in Mathis, TX, the son of the late Earl and Mildred Rouse. The family moved to Calico Rock, AR, following the death of his father. He attended the Calico Rock Schools and in 1965, he was drafted into the United States Army, serving in Vietnam. Following his honorable discharge from the Army, Ed worked on motors for the railroad. He then transferred to Shreveport, LA, where he worked for ‘Comet Industries’, continuing to work on motors for the railroad. He worked in that capacity until health reasons forced him to retire, in the early 1990’s. Ed loved animals, and had a special fondness for dogs. He enjoyed outings and activities at the Jacobetti Center, where he made is home. Ed is survived by special friends, Shirley and Ethan. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Elgay; sister, Fannie Belle Byram; and stepfather, Monroe Myers. Interment will be in Spring Creek Cemetery in Calico Rock, AR.
