Edythe "Cookie" Roberts

Edythe “Cookie” Roberts, age 77, of Long Lake, WI, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2023. She was born on September 23, 1945, in Auburn, WA, the daughter of the late David and Rev. Edythe (Richter) Ritchie. She graduated from the Florence High School. Cookie married John “Jack” Roberts on June 26, 1965, in Crystal Falls, MI and the couple made their home in Long Lake. They celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary in 2008. Jack preceded her in death on October 22, 2008. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, watching the lake, and reading suspense thrillers, all barefoot. Cookie is survived by her son, Neil Roberts of Long Lake, WI; daughter, Lisa (Bruce) Nichols of Tipler, WI; brothers, Douglas (Pearl) Ritchie and Dale (Cindy) Ritchie, both of Long Lake, WI; grandchildren, Blake (Alyssa), Shane, and Paige Nichols and Colt Tittl-Roberts; great grandchildren, August, Lincoln, and Mila; countless nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Darian and David Ritchie, and sister, Lorrayne C. Schwenn. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. A family led service will take place at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be in Long Lake Cemetery in the spring.
