Eileen F. Smith

Eileen F. Smith, age 95, of Tipler, WI, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at Aspirus Iron River Hospital. She was born on August 12, 1923 in Mountain, WI, the daughter of the late Archie and Genevieve (Statler) Shannon. She attended and graduated from Iron River High School, with the Class of 1939.      Eileen married Earl Smith on November 29, 1945 at Maple Grove Baptist Church of Tipler, WI, and the couple remained lifelong residents of the area.  They owned and operated a restaurant and grocery store called “Mr. Earl’s” and also operated “Eileen’s Foster Home” for over 23 years. She was a member of the Maple Grove Baptist Church of Tipler. She enjoyed crocheting, canning, cooking, working puzzles, four wheeling, and snowmobiling. Eileen was preceded in death by her husband Earl on February 20, 2008; brothers, Jack , Allan, and Richard Shannon; sisters, Betty Pierucki, Jerry Hiles, and Beverly Spencer; and great granddaughter, Alison Lambert. She is survived by her sons, Richard (Lorena) Smith of Iron River, MI, and Jerry (Nancy) Willis of Moline, IL; grandchildren, Erik Smith, Nikki (Jeff) Lambert, and Renee Willis; five great grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, and extended family. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 29, 2019 from 9:30 to 11:00am at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River.  Funeral services will follow at 11am with Pastor Jason Heath to officiate.
