Elaine A. Vanwagner

Elaine A. VanWagner, age 81, of Phelps, WI, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Aspirus Iron River Hospital. She was born on April 4, 1938 in Beechwood, MI, the daughter of the late Walter and Helga (Sukaniva) Autio.  Elaine attended the Iron River Schools, graduating with the Class of 1956.  She then earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Northern Michigan University in Business.  She was employed as an administrator for Lutheran Brotherhood Insurance.  She was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church in Minocqua, WI, the Lions Club, and Friends of Camp Batawagama.   She enjoyed traveling, reading, spending time at her house on the lake, and loved her cat, Trixie.  Elaine is survived by several friends and classmates.
