Ella White

Ella White, age 95, of Tipler, WI, went to be with her Lord and Savior and her late husband Walter as the song goes “waiting on a woman”, our dad is not waiting anymore, on Monday, July 19, 2021 at her home. Ella, the second oldest of nine children, was born on April 30, 1926 in Knott County, KY, to the late Hiram and Martha (Young) Martin. At the age of 12 she moved to Tipler with her parents and siblings. On May 28, 1946, she married Walter White and the couple made their home in Iron River, MI, before moving to Tipler, WI. They celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary in 2012, before Walter preceded her in death on June 29, 2012. Ella worked at various jobs. She was employed by Aramark in Caspian for many years until her retirement. During the summer months, she also worked in housekeeping at the Edgewater Resort. She was a member of the former Maple Grove Church in Tipler and attended the Long Lake Bible Church in Long Lake, WI. Ella enjoyed picking berries, crocheting, knitting, and doing crafts. She was an excellent cook; her fried chicken and pasties were #1 on her list of favorites from family and friends. Ella was cared for by her children Kevin and Mary Lou. She wanted to be at home and was able to stay with their help, just as with Walter. Ella is survived by her children, Bonnie "Jeannie" Fredricks of Crystal Falls, MI, Mary Lou Rea of Tipler, WI, Tommy and Kevin White, both of Tipler, WI, and Pastor Gary (LeaAnn) White of Long Lake, WI; grandchildren, Reneé Andersen, Rebecca (Cory) Coogan, Jason (Jessica) Townsend, Brett Condon Lamers, James (Kelly) Lamers, Bill (Jennifer) Lamers, Linda Jean (Mike) Maki, Thomas “Duffer” (Megan) White, Susan (Troy) Anderson, Jennifer Olson, Walter (Krista) Rea, Patrick Rea Jr, Derrek (Tiffany) White, Alecia (Eric) Kretzschmar; 26 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren, Mason, Liam, Rylan, Connor, Avery, Lexie, Amelia, Lily, Ellie, and River, with another great great grandson Bradley due July 30th and a great great granddaughter due in December; sisters, Monnie Kleinfeld of Fond du Lac, WI and Genevieve (Conrad) Phillipson of Whitehall, WI; brother, Jack (Joan) Martin of Monroe, OH; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Ella was also preceded in death by her grandson, Terry Olson; great great grandson, Shade Johnson; daughters, Linda Schmitt and Betty Townsend; sisters, Judy Gurinchoff, Edwina Ritchie, Gladys Purcell, and Bonnie Baldwin; brothers, Arthur and Edgar Martin, and brothers-in-law, Evert Ritchie, Herb Kleinfeld, and Murph Baldwin; sister-in-law, Audrey Martin; and sons-in-law, Pat Rea Sr and Jim Fredricks. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 22, 2021 from 4:00 to 6:00pm at the Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron River. Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021 at 11:00am at the Long Lake Bible Church with Pastor Gary White to officiate. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Derrek and Thomas White, Jason Townsend, Walter and Patrick Rea, and Brett Condon Lamers. Honorary pallbearer will be Reneé Townsend.
