Elsie Mae Abrahamson

Elsie Mae Abrahamson, age 90 of Iron River, MI was welcomed into her heavenly home Sunday, February 1, 2009 at the University of Michigan Hospital. Elsie was born February 6, 1918 in Alvin, WI. She married her husband, the late Eric Abrahamson on September 25, 1937. Elsie was a loving and dedicated mother and the rock of her family and will be dearly missed. Elsie enjoyed gardening and crocheting. Surviving are two daughters; Janet Schweitzer Ethel (Randy) Hetzner Grandchildren: Carl Hetzner Christine (Sean) Dolan Ann Marie (Brion) Bissell Jeanne Fiumefreddo Great grandchildren; Kaela Dolan Alyssa Fiumefreddo Mia Fiumefreddo Brothers; Jim (Anette) Puckett Herman (Elva) Puckett Sisters; Nancy Carlson Loretta (Sam) Moore Sister-in-law, Emma Abrahamson Many nieces, nephews, friends and a very close church family Elsie was preceded in death by her parents Dillard and Sudie (Ponder) Puckett; daughter LaVerne Fiumefreddo; sons-in-law Peter Fiumefreddo and Rolf Schweitzer; grandson John Fiumefreddo; sisters Gladys Rowe, Eunice Newman, Elizabeth Woodring, Edith Underwood and Pearl Watkins; Brothers Andrew, Alan, Louis, David, Clarence, Eugene and Francis; also many nieces and nephews. Visitation: Monday. February 9, 2009 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River and Tuesday February 10 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Grace Covenant Church, Iron River. Funeral Service: Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Grace Covenant Church, Iron River, with Rev. Mark Ryan to officiate. Elsie was an active church member and memorials to the Grace Covenant Church of Iron River are suggested.
