Erma A. Callovi

Erma A. Callovi, age 85, Caspian, MI died Monday June 30, 2008 at the Iron County Medical Care Facility, Crystal Falls, MI. Born: August 30, 1922, Wittenberg, WI The daughter of the late John and Ruth (Lyon) Holford was a lifelong resident of the area. She attended the Nelma schools and played basketball for Nelma. Erma was the manager for the former Gold Bond Stamp Redemption Center and a clerk with the former Callovi's Gambles Store. Erma married Geno Callovi on April 6, 1940 and the couple celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary in 1995. Geno preceded her in death on January 9, 1996. She was a member of the St. Cecilia Catholic Church of Caspian. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Cynthia Callovi, one brother, Wallace Holford, and three sisters; Ione Buege, Evelyn Dain and Irene Joerns. She is survived by two sons; Eugene (Marilyn) Callovi of Iron River Bruce (JoAnn) Callovi of Brooklyn Park, MN Three daughters; Virginia (Charles) Parker of Memphis, TN Marilyn (Gary) Westphal of Caspian Renee (Terry) Verville of Iron River 20 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren Many nieces and nephews Visitation: Saturday, July 5, 2008 from 10:00 to 12:30 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River. Funeral Service: Saturday, July 5, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Caspian with the Rev. Norman Clisch, pastor, to offer the Mass of Christian Burial.
