Erma V. Johnson

Erma V. Johnson Age 90 Iron River, MIDied Friday December 7, at Maryhill Manor in Niagara Wisconsin. Born: November 17, 1922 in Stambaugh, MI The daughter of the late Ferdinand and Charlotte (Bertagnoli) Erspamer attended the Stambaugh schools, graduating from Stambaugh High School in 1940. She married Harland Johnson on May 11, 1946 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church of Caspian and the couple were lifelong residents of the area. They celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary in 1995, and Harland preceded her in death on February 9, 1996. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church of Iron River and a former member of the Blessed Sacrament Church and Guild of Stambaugh. She was an avid reader and enjoyed music, cooking , and baking, especially ravioli and cinnamon rolls. Erma 's family always came first with her, and she was a very loving and wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. All of her children and grandchildren loved her very much. Her granddaughter, Melissa, helped with her wonderful care during her final years at Maryhill Manor. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Henry. She is survived by two sons, Mark (Barbara) Johnson of Traverse City, MI and their children Scott (Julie) Johnson and Jennifer (Mike) Gunderson and their children, Dominic, Jazlyn, Olivia, Isabella, and Zachary (Autumn Simonis) and their child Brooklyn; Gary Johnson of Caspian and Sue Johnson of Stambaugh and their children Christopher and his child Aneesa and Jeremy (Danielle) and their children Lucy and Benjamin; one daughter, Chris (Joe) Ehlers of Wisconsin Rapids, WI and their children Amy, Melissa, and Matthew; one brother, Frank Erspamer of Fresno, CA; one sister, Josephine Truel of Niagara, WI; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation: Saturday December 15, 2012 from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River, MI. Funeral Service: Saturday December 15, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Iron River, with Rev. Gregory Veneklase to offer the Mass of Christian Burial.
