Eva Lass, age 91, Haslett, MI, formerly of Gaastra, MI, died Saturday, September 1, 2007 at the Ingham Regional Medical Center, Lansing, MI. Born: February 13, 1916 in Gaastra, MI. The daughter of the late Frank and Palma (Borneni) Gasperini attended the Gaastra School. In 1966 she moved from Gaastra to Chicago, IL. She married Albert Lass in 1970 in Chicago where the couple resided. He preceded her in death in 1972. Eva was employed at St. Augustine Hospital in Chicago where she worked in Central Supply retiring in 1981. She enjoyed sewing, cake decorating & ballroom dancing She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, East Lansing and former member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Gaastra. Eva was also preceded in death by four brothers; Rico, Guido, Albert, and Olivo Gasperini. She is survived by daughters; Barbara Belongie (Rae Jim) Burnett, Haslett, MI Susan Belongie (Henry) Stefanski, Avon, Ohio Brother; Ernest Gasperini, Chicago, IL Sisters; Esther McGuire, Anaheim, CA Clara Panebianeo, Chicago, IL 5 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren Numerous nieces and nephews Visitation: Friday Sept. 7, 2007 from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River, MI. Funeral Services: Friday Sept. 7, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Caspian, MI. with Rev. Norman Clisch, pastor, and Rev. Otto Sartorelli to concelebrate the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment: Stambaugh Cemetery, Iron River, MI. Funeral Arrangements by the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River.
