Evelyn A. Bors

Evelyn A. Bors, 89, of Caspian, MI, died Tuesday, July 1, 2014. The daughter of the late George and Anastazia (Kruzich) Polich was born on November 14, 1924 in Caspian and was a 1942 graduate of Stambaugh High School. On June 5, 1943, she married Joseph Bors at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Caspian and the couple made their home in Caspian where they raised six children. Joseph preceded her in death in 1988. Evelyn was employed at Coleman Products until her retirement in 1986. She was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Caspian and St. Ann's Society. An avid smear player, she also enjoyed knitting, especially baby sweater sets which she made sure every one of ther grandchildren received. She also bowled for many years and played bocce ball. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Survivors include her son, David (Sue) Bors, daughters, Janice (Gary) Stoychoff, Kay (Karl) Krause, all of Green Bay, WI, and Joyce (Robert) Johnson of Denmark, WI. She is further survived by one son-in-law, Richard Stoychoff of Green Bay, 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, one great, great grandson; seven step great grandchildren, and three step great, great grandchildren. She is also survived by a special niece, Joan (Richard) Moore of Milwaukee, WI, and other nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Marsha Glenn and Jean Stoychoff; brothers, Emil and his wife, Sophie, and Vlatko and his wife, Olga; and sisters Violet and her husband, Charles Mascari and Agnes and her husband, Rudy Tadey. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church of Caspian, with Rev. Gregory Veneklase, Pastor, to offer the Mass of Christian Burial.
