Evelyn I. Greig

Evelyn Irene Greig passed away on October 14, 2012 at Northstar Health System of Iron River. She was born in East Troy, Wisconsin on June 4, 1927 to the late Herman and Molly (Ratke) Beckman. She came to this area with her folks from North Dakota in 1938 and lived in Nelma, Wisconsin and attended the Elvoy Schools. She married James Greig on November 12, 1949 and moved to Racine, WI for six years. They returned to the Iron River area and have lived here since, mostly on Division Street for 48 years, in an old house her husband remodeled. She had worked at the Iron Inn and Brule Motel. James preceded her in death on November 9, 2011. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church. She loved flowers, her garden, birds, and animals. She was a country girl. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, Terry, sisters, Leona Koski, and Anna Stapleton and two infant brothers and brothers Alfred and Willie Beckman. She is survived by her sons, Danny (Renee) Greig of Green Bay, WI Ernest (Pam) Greig of Iron River Daughters, Karen (Bill) Wagner of Green Bay, WI Patti (Tony Serbinski) Greig of Iron River Sisters, Alice (Antone)Skrivanie of Iron River Ella Sparks of Burlington, WI Mary Butler of Racine, WI Brother, Bob Beckman of Kenosha, WI Eight grandchildren, Tanya, Tara, Todd, Trent, Noah, Isacc, JT, and, Jenna Seven great grandchildren, Basil, Spencer, Addie, Lewis, Levi, Rodney, Ivy Many nieces, nephew and extended family. Visitation: Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Iron River. Funeral Service: Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Iron River, with Rev. Bonny Kinnunen to officiate.
