Faith M. Bedard

Faith "Faye" M. Bedard, 90, of Iron River, MI, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2015. She was born April 10, 1924 in Iron River, MI, the daughter of the late Pal and Martha (Erdman) Worth. Faye married Robert “Bob” Bedard on August 4, 1945 in Iron River. They celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary in 2004. Faye worked as a beautician for many years and also worked for Stanley Home products. In the late 1970’s she worked as a salesperson for the Reporter, and then as the manager at the Iron County Chamber of Commerce, overseeing both Iron River and Crystal Falls. She and her husband Bob managed Morning Side Apartments in Waukesha, WI, for several years. Faye also volunteered with the local American Cancer Society, the local HELP Hotline suicide prevention program, as well as alongside her husband Bob with the local snowmobile club and it’s various fund raising activities. Both Bob and Faye were great hosts, inviting out of town family members to stay with them at any time, but also opened their home regularly to strangers, hosting many snowmobile excursions into the Ottawa National Forest with their home serving as the "base camp". They also enjoyed setting up camp with their travel trailer at Pentoga Park for the summers. Faye loved to oil paint and play music on her Fun-Machine Organ. She was preceded in death by her husband Bob on July 8, 2005, brothers Eugene and Lyle, and sisters, Alice, Pauline, and Irene. Faye is survived by her son, David Bedard of Sag Harbor, NY; daughters, Shirlee Kay Bedard of Waukesha, WI, and Bobbi Jean (Tom) Litsenberger of Houghton, MI; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and extended family. Visitation will be on Friday, February 13, 2014 from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 with Pastor Jack Hudson to officiate.
