Falio Mattioli Age 94 Iron River, MIDied Friday, December 17, 2010 at the Iron River Care Center. Born: November 19, 1916 in Iron River, MI The son of the late Sabatino and Catherine (Santi) Mattioli attended the Iron River Schools. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII. In 1937, he married the former Mary Dragieff and the couple made their home in Iron River. Mary preceded him in death on August 29, 1989. He later married Doris Benson Bergstrom in 1992. Falio worked in the local mines for M.A. Hanna Mining Company for many years, until his retirement in 1977. He was a member of the St. Agnes Catholic Church and the American Legion Alfred Branchini Post #17 of Iron River. He was also preceded in death by his son, Fredrick, great grandson, Benjamin and brother, Joseph. He is survived by his wife, Doris Three sons; Jerome (Mary Jo) Mattioli of Jenison, MI Ronald (Julie) Mattioli of Howard City, MI Thomas Mattioli of Madison, WI Two daughters; Catherine (Don) Wester of Elk River, MN Anne (William) Ward of Grosse Ile, MI Three step-sons; Robert Bergstrom of Park Ridge, IL Kevin Bergstrom of Palentine, IL Randy Bergstrom of West Des Moines, IA Step-daughter, Wendy Norman of North Easton, MA Brother, Elio (Adeline) Mattioli of Iron River Sister-in-law, Lila Mattioli of Iron River 22 grandchildren 21 great grandchildren 9 step grandchildren 6 step great grandchildren Nieces, nephews and extended family Visitation: Monday, December 20, 2010 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River. A Prayer Vigil will be conducted at 7 p.m. Funeral Service: Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at 11 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Iron River with Rev. Norman Clisch, Pastor, to offer the Mass of Christian Burial.The West Side Veterans will accord Military Rites at the service.
