Fannie I. Skog

Fannie I. Skog, age 88, of Iron River, MI, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Northstar Health System. She was born December 10, 1924 in Iron Mountain, MI, the daughter of the late Millard and Sarah (Jensen) Babcock and attended the Sagola - Channing schools, graduating from Channing High School in 1945. She married William Skog on June 2, 1945, in Metropolitan, MI, and in the 1950's, the couple moved to the Iron River area to make their home. Fannie was a homemaker and in her spare time was an avid walker. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church and the Friendship Club at the Iron River Care Center. She was preceded in death by her husband William in 1979, brother, Herman Babcock, and sisters, Dorothy and Harriet. She is survived by two sons, Donald (Julie) Skog, Fond du lac, WI and David Skog, Riverside, CA; two daughters, Betty (Kurt) Barry, Muskego, WI, and Shirley (Hans) Topp, Corona, CA; and 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held, Wednesday, May 15, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church of Iron River with Rev. Bonny Kinnunen to officiate.
