Florence J. Busakowski

Florence J. Busakowski, age 84, of Iron River, passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at the Iron River Care Center. She was born May 2, 1931 in Caspian, MI the daughter of the late Walter and Justine (Pavlik) Piekarski. She attended the Stambaugh Schools and graduated with the Class of 1949. Florence married Stanley Busakowski on March 11, 1952 in Gaastra, MI and the couple made their home in Iron River. They celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary in 1992. Stanley preceded her in death. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church of Iron River. She enjoyed bowling and knitting. Florence is survived by her son, Rick (Elizabeth) Busakowski of Arbor Vitae, WI; daughter, Bonnie (Aziz) Bucater of Las Vegas, NV; granddaughters, Kristen Anderson of Duluth, MN, Ashley Brunel of Park Falls, WI, and Daria Busakowski of Arbor Vitae, WI; great grandchildren, Jalen and Bennett Brunel; sister, Lucile Michelfelder of Arlington Heights, IL; nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Veronica Richards, Dorothy Rae, and Agnes Strenke. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1 p.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church of Iron River. Interment will be in Stambaugh Cemetery. Interment will be in Stambaugh Cemetery.
