Florence M. Webber

Florence M. Webber, age 97, of Caspian, MI, passed away on Monday, May 17, 2021 in Albuquerque, NM. She was born on December 17, 1923 in Caspian, MI, the daughter of the late Louis and Elizabeth (Meggiolaro) Schiavo. She attended the Stambaugh Schools, graduating from Stambaugh High School with the Class of 1941. She was employed as a clerical office worker for over 30 years. She was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church of Caspian and St. Ann’s Society. Florence enjoyed working puzzles and doing word search, along with cooking, baking, and, of course, the obligatory taste-testing of many wonderful homemade Italian dishes. But most of all, she enjoyed spending quality time visiting with her family. Florence married Homer Webber on November 8, 1958 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church of Caspian and they were lifelong residents of the area. The couple celebrated many wonderful years together before Homer preceded her in death in 1992. Florence is survived by her daughters, Kris (Dave) Greig of Albuquerque, NM, and Beth (Rick) Close of Quaker Hill, CT; sisters, Loretta (Tom) Shepich of Reston, VA, and Gloria (Bill) Flink of Sun City, AZ; five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Geno, Archie, and Remo Schiavo, and her sister, Ann Brunamonti. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 from 9:00 am to 10:40 am at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. Funeral services will be held at 11am at St. Cecilia Catholic Church of Caspian with Rev. Gregory Veneklase to offer the Mass of Christian Burial. The Ladies of St. Anne’s Society will form an honor guard at the service. Interment will be in Stambaugh Cemetery at a later date.
