Frances M. Nordstrom

Frances M. Nordstrom, age 88, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at the Iron River Care Center. She was born on March 14, 1929 in Wyndmere, ND, the daughter of the late Henry and Loretta (Springer) O’Connor. She attended the Phelps Schools. Frances married Floyd Nordstrom on February 7, 1948 in Iron River.  The couple made their home in Iron River and celebrated 70 wonderful years together.  She worked with Floyd in the woods while raising their four children.  Frances attended the First Baptist Church in Iron River.  She enjoyed working in the garden, canning, fishing with Floyd, cooking and going on picnics.  Frances is survived by her husband, Floyd; son, Richard (Patti) Nordstrom of Iron River, MI; daughters, Loretta Willison of Iron River, MI, Carol Nordstrom of Elkhart, IN and Lea Ann (Gary) White of Long Lake, WI; nine grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 11 great, great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by brothers, Carol and Leon O’Connor; sister, Lorraine Horst; son-in-law, Ronald Willison; grandson, Randy Willison; and great grandson, Ty Nordstrom.  Visitation will be held Monday, February 26, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron River and on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church in Iron River. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at 11 am at the First Baptist Church with Rev. John Fish to officiate.
