Frank P. Hartman

Frank P. Hartman, age 90, of Crystal Falls, MI, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2024, at Aspirus Iron River Hospital. He was born on June 25, 1934, in South Bend, IN, the son of Joseph and Mary (Cserteszny) Hartman. Frank attended the South Bend Schools, graduating from South Bend Central High School with the class of 1954. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving as a radioman on three ships. Frank married Patricia Kowalski on February 12, 1955, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in South Bend, IN. They celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary this year. He was employed as a supervisor with the U.S. Postal Service and retired after 31 years. Frank was a member St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Caspian, MI, VFW Tufts-Rondon Post #2891, and The American Legion Louis Bowman Post #87. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, fly tying, and wood carving. Frank is survived by his wife, Patricia; son, Frank (Gail) Hartman, Jr. of La Porte, IN; daughter, Cindy Maciejewski of Houston, TX; sister, Elsie Nyikos of Pierceton, IN; nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. He was also preceded in death by his son-in-law, Matthew Maciejewski, brothers, Joseph and Anton Hartman, and sisters, Mary Curtis, Elizabeth Gubi, and Irene Meidel. A visitation will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Caspian with Fr. Daniel Dapaah to offer the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in Stambaugh Cemetery.
