Frank C. Zanon

Frank C. Zanon, 91, of Caspian, MI, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay, WI.

The youngest of four children of the late Louis and Ann (Rondon) Zanon, Frank was born on October 7, 1934, in Crystal Falls, MI, and grew up in Caspian. Frank played football all through high school and later competed in several U.P. Golden Gloves boxing events. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.

After he married, Frank moved his family to Milwaukee, WI and worked in construction. Years later he returned to Caspian to take care of his mom. He enjoyed years of hunting and fishing as well as playing bocce ball. He also enjoyed playing smear and loved his companion dog “Little Z”.

Frank is survived by his sons, Shawn (Cheryle) Zanon of Oconomowoc, WI and Rod (Brenda) Zanon of Waukesha, WI; daughter, Andrea (Rick) Reed of North Prairie, WI; sister, Louella Gordon of Iron River, MI; five grandchildren, Brett, Brieana, Evan, Cole, and Riley; two great-grandchildren, Caleb and Jonah; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

He was also preceded in death by his brother, Eugene “Zaza” Zanon and sister, Patricia Strand.

A visitation will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. A memorial service will follow at 3:30 p.m. with Pastor Vicky Prewitt to officiate.

Interment will be in Stambaugh Cemetery.  The West Side Veterans will accord Military Rites at the graveside.
