Fred L. Stover

Fred L. Stover, age 69, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2022, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls, MI. He was born on October 19, 1952, in Hammond, IN, the son of the late Fred D. and Lorraine (Muha) Stover. Fred attended the Hammond Schools and graduated from Morton Senior High School with the class of 1971. He later earned an associate degree in forestry. Fred married Mary Casagranda on August 30, 1980, in Bates Township, MI. The couple celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary in 2020. Mary preceded him in death on October 3, 2020. He was employed as a surveyor on the pipeline. Fred was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Reino Squadron 21. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking, and watching Kansas City Chiefs football. Fred is survived by his son, Fred Stover of Marquette, MI; daughter, Amber (fiancé Kelly Taetsch) Stover of Iron River, MI; sisters, Laura (Pat) Wodzinski of Sturgeon Bay, WI and Dawn (Bruce) Alexander of Hammond, IN; faithful dog, Sophia; extended family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at The American Legion Reino Post #21.
