Freddie R. “Chummer” Seymour, age 67, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Monday, July 26, 2021, at home in the arms of his wife. He was born on May 13, 1954, in Stambaugh, MI, the son of the Rose (Yackel) Seymour and the late Fred G. Seymour. He attended the Bates and Iron River Schools. Freddie was employed in the woods with his father and brothers and later worked on the pipeline, where he made many lifelong friends and family. Freddie married the former Waunetta Rea on August 14, 1982. The couple celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary in 2020. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Squadron 17 and a past 4-H leader for 13 years. Freddie enjoyed playing cards and being in the great outdoors either hunting, fishing, or camping. But most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. Freddie is survived by his wife, Waunetta Seymour; sons, Freddie Seymour Jr. and Tom (Beth) Banks, both of Iron River, MI; daughter, Jeannette (Mark) Mollo of Richmond, IN; sisters, Susan (Ken) Hookenson and Betty (Jim Haydon) Clements, both of Iron River, MI; grandchildren, John (Brandy), Robbie, Adriana, Courtney (Jordan), Anthony (Cayte), Kaylee, and Bella; great grandchildren, Landon, Athena, Lucy, and Theo; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was also preceded in death by his father, Fred G. Seymour; son, Robert Seymour; brothers, Steven and Gilbert “Gabber” Seymour; and brother-in-law, Harry Clements.
