Garnet L. Murrock

Garnet L. Murrock, age 75, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2024. She was born on November 10, 1948, in Iron River, MI, the daughter of the late Harry and Mildred (Copeland) Erickson. She attended the Iron River Schools, graduating from Iron River High School with the class of 1966. Garnet married Gerald “Jerry” Murrock on August 30, 1969, in Milwaukee, WI. The couple celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary in 2023. She was employed as a teacher in Milwaukee before retiring. Garnet was a member of the Iron County, Michigan Genealogical Society and the Beechwood Historical Society. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, reading, and research genealogy. Garnet is survived by her husband, Jerry Murrock of Iron River, MI; son, William (Sidonia) Murrock of Richmond Hills, GA; daughter Julie (Matt) Bumgardner of Grafton, WI; brother, Paul Erickson of Arizona and John Erickson of Grants Pass, OR; sisters, Lynn (Ron Vegaue) Degroot and Carole (Lance) Head, both of Mesa, AZ; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
