Gary Daniel Sarafiny

Gary Daniel Sarafiny, age 49, of Iron River, Michigan passed away Sunday, June 5, 2016 due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Gary was born on May 25, 1967 in Iron Mountain, MI. The son of Gary and Sharon (Stolberg) Sarafiny was a graduate of West Iron County High School in 1985. He was employed by Columbia Forest Products as a Log Buyer.  He was active in the Logging community. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Iron River. He was a Proud Parent, his life was his children and he enjoyed attending all their activities and sporting events.  He was an “Animated Storyteller” and joker.  Gary was an avid outdoorsman enjoying predator and deer hunting, fishing and his many fishing trips.  He was a poker player, Detroit Tiger and Green Bay Packer Fan. Gary was a regular coffee drinker at Holiday. He is survived by his parents; Gary and Sharon Sarafiny, Caspian, MI; grandmother, Delvina Stolberg, Iron River; son, Zane Sarafiny and daughter, Tess Sarafiny of Iron River and their mother LauraLee Pierquet, Phelps, WI; daughter, Raegan Sarafiny and her mother Amber Sarafiny, Iron River; stepdaughter Isabelle Hackett, Iron River; sisters, Shelly Losey, Iron River, Cindi (Bill) Gustafson, Superior WI, Tina (Vince) Joyce, Minneapolis, MN;  nieces, nephews extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by a stepdaughter; Adrianna Ceron; grandparents Frank and Lillian Sarafiny and Lambert Stolberg, and brother-in-law Jerry Losey. Visitation:  Thursday, June 9, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, Iron River.  Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Dawn Treado to officiate.
