Gary K. Steele

Gary K. Steele, age 77, of Amasa, MI., passed away on Sunday September 22, 2024, at the Iron River Care Center. He was born on September 7, 1947, in Dearborn, MI., the son of the late William and Mina (Mulholland) Steele. Gary married Marilyn Anttila on August 13, 1966, in Dearborn Heights, MI. Marilyn preceded him in death on December 7, 2023. He was employed as a roofer for many years. He enjoyed riding his Harley, hunting, fishing, and going to the casino. Gary is survived by his son Ray (Melissa) Steele of Green Bay, WI.; daughters, Sherry (Mike) Kernats of Amasa, MI., and Marie (Loren) Short of Greensburg, IN.; sister, Betty Dean of New Boston, MI.; grandchildren, Charal, Brett, Paytanne, Nash, Brandi, Dylan, Daniel, and Tejai; great grandchildren Lainy, Jaron, Mari, Maya, Mallory, Kallan, Thatcher, and Delia; nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. He was also preceded in death by his brother, William Steele and sister, Eleanore. The family would like to thank his long-time caregiver Lori Kernats the staff at the Iron River Care Center.
