Gary L. Tass

Gary L. Tass, age 54, Iron River, MI went home to his Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 27, 2007. He died peacefully at his home, surrounded by family and loved ones. He was born March 17, 1953 in Stambaugh, MI to Walter and Florence (Trevarton) Tass and attended the Iron River Schools, graduating with the Class of 1971. He then attended the Northern Michigan Skills Center, Marquette, MI for Auto Mechanics. Gary married the former Patsy Burke on October 6, 1973 at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Iron River. The couple left Iron River in 1978 for Gary to pursue his career with North Central Airlines in Chicago. He later transferred to Minneapolis International Airport and the family resided in the area for the next 17 years. In 1994, the family returned to the Iron River area and he was hired by West Iron County Schools as a custodian/bus driver during the school year, and was head of maintenance at Camp Batawagama during the summer months. Gary was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who treasured his family and friends and loved the Lord. He was a member of the Iron River Bible Church and enjoyed vacationing in Hawaii and playing the drums with the Outer Edge Band. He was preceded in death by his mother Florence on November 23, 2006. Funeral Service: Saturday, December 29, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. at the Iron River Bible Church, with Pastor Dan Waters and Brother Rex Dye to officiate.
